International online conference #YouthMediaLife2021
Our international online conference #YouthMediaLife2021 took place from March 29 – April 1. Roughly 200 participants from all around the world listened to and discussed more than 100 single contributions. You can find our programme here. Our four keynote speakers – Susanne Baumgartner (Amsterdam University, The Netherlands), Rodney Jones (University of Reading, UK), Axel Krommer (University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany) and Dafna Lemish (Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA) – provided stimulating lectures on topics ranging from the psychological wellbeing of multitasking children to the messiness of tiktok videos, from thoughts on how to rethink our research agendas in the light of the pandemic to holistic views of digital competences within the context of the school system.
As social events, we watched films on Viennese coffeehouses and sausage stands and listened to music by Vienna-based musicians: Hearts Hearts, wienerzucker, Anna Kos & Band and Birgit Denk & Band.
The online format of our conference was facilitated by a team of student helpers who, together with our organisational team and IT team, enabled a smooth running of up to 6 parallel sessions.
Please follow our updates concerning conference publication and other projects on our website, blog and social media - Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
